Template Overview

A G2 review funnel sits between "we should ask our customers for reviews" and an actual review on your G2 profile. The gap between those two things is friction: a customer who would happily write two sentences about your software will not go hunting for the right page, sign in, and work out what to say. This template removes that step. It asks one satisfaction question, scores the answer, and sends each respondent to an outcome page built for where they actually landed, with the G2 link waiting on it.

The funnel is a Score-based Outcomes flow, so the routing threshold is yours to set. The seeded structure has two outcome pages, one carrying the review invitation and one carrying a private feedback field for anything that needs fixing first. Before you publish, decide which configuration you want. Showing the G2 link on every outcome page and adding the private feedback field alongside it, rather than instead of it, keeps the funnel a friction-reduction layer rather than a filter. Routing by sentiment so that only satisfied customers ever see the review link is review gating, which G2's Community Guidelines and the FTC's Consumer Reviews and Testimonials Rule both speak to, so check both against your own configuration before it goes live.

What happens after the click is the part most review tools leave out. Every respondent becomes a contact in involve.me's built-in CRM with their satisfaction score, their written feedback, and the outcome they saw stored against them, which turns a review push into a segmented list. From there, email sequences follow up on the requests that went nowhere, route detractor feedback to whoever owns the fix, and stop asking someone who already reviewed you. Use it as a review funnel template emailed after a renewal or a support resolution, embedded in your app after a milestone, or linked from a QR code at a conference booth.

Key Features

  1. Satisfaction scoring that drives the routing - the opening question feeds a score, and the score decides which outcome page loads. Set the threshold where your own data says the line sits, and use a slider, a rating scale, or an NPS question depending on how granular you want the signal.

  2. Multiple outcome pages, each with its own job - one page can carry the G2 invitation with a direct link to your profile, another can carry a private feedback field, and both can carry the review link if that is the configuration you choose. Logic jumps handle any branching more complex than a single threshold.

  3. An open feedback field that captures the detail a star rating loses - a score tells you something is wrong, the text field tells you what. Those answers land on the contact record as properties, so recurring complaints become a filterable segment rather than an inbox.

  4. Answer piping so the invitation reads like it was written for them - pull the customer's name, their plan, or the product area they mentioned into the outcome copy, so the ask references their actual experience instead of opening with a generic thank-you.

  5. Email sequences triggered by the score and by what they did next - open and click tracking feeds back into the workflow, so someone who opened the invitation without clicking through gets a different reminder than someone who never opened it, and someone who clicked gets removed from the sequence.

Benefits

  • Turns a review request into a measurable funnel - you see how many people answered, how many reached the invitation, and how many clicked through, which is more than a bulk email campaign tells you.

  • Catches the problem before it reaches your profile - a customer with an unresolved support issue who has somewhere to say so is a customer you can still fix things for. Much of what shows up as a negative public review started as an unanswered ticket.

  • Builds a segmented list instead of a one-off push - satisfaction score, written feedback, and outcome all land on the contact record, so the next campaign starts from who your promoters and detractors actually are.

  • Blocks junk before it distorts your numbers - OTP verification on email or SMS confirms the respondent is reachable, which matters when the satisfaction score is going to drive a workflow.

  • Runs on your own domain and your own branding - embed it in your app or website, publish it on a custom domain, and remove involve.me branding on Grow and above, so the request reads as coming from you.

How It Works

  1. Customize
Open the template and rewrite the satisfaction question in your own language, swapping the default input for a rating scale or an NPS question if you want a finer signal than a slider gives. Replace the placeholder G2 link with your own profile URL, and rewrite the invitation copy so it names your product and tells the customer roughly how long a review takes. Then match fonts, colors, logo, and background to your brand, because a request that looks like it came from a third party converts worse than one that looks like it came from you.

  2. Configure
Set the score threshold that decides which outcome page loads, then decide the configuration deliberately: put the G2 link on every outcome page and add the private feedback field as an extra path, or route by sentiment and accept that you are gating. Check G2's Community Guidelines and the FTC rule on consumer reviews against whichever you pick. Make the feedback field required only on the path where you actually want the detail, add a hidden field for the account ID or plan so the response arrives attributed, and turn on OTP verification if you are sending to a list you do not fully trust.

  3. Connect
In the Connect tab, map the satisfaction score and the feedback text to properties on the contact record, or push them into HubSpot, Salesforce, or your CRM of choice. Send detractor responses to a Slack channel so support sees them the same day. Then build the sequences in the workflow builder: a reminder for anyone who opened the invitation without clicking, a support follow-up for anyone who left critical feedback, and a suppression rule so nobody who already reviewed you gets asked twice.

  4. Share
Timing does more work here than copy. Send it after a renewal, a successful onboarding, a resolved support ticket, or a milestone inside the product, when the customer has just had a reason to feel good about you. Embed it in-app as a pop-up, link it from an email, print it as a QR code for events, or publish it as a standalone page on a custom domain. Carry the account ID through with hidden fields so every response ties back to a known customer.

  5. Analyze
The number that matters is the click-through from invitation to G2, not the completion rate of the funnel. Watch it against the send channel and the trigger event to work out which moment produces reviews. Read the distribution of satisfaction scores over time as a health signal, and read the feedback text for the complaints that repeat. A/B test the question wording, the threshold, and the invitation copy.
